Towerclean NT®

Continuous biodispersant technology that controls biofilm, improves heat transfer efficiency, and enhances cooling water system performance

Towerclean NT® is a continuous biodispersant technology developed for cooling water systems to control biofilm formation and minimize fouling on heat transfer surfaces. By continuously dispersing biofilm and organic deposits, Towerclean NT® helps maintain cleaner system surfaces, allowing cooling towers and heat exchangers to operate more efficiently while reducing the risk of performance loss caused by microbiological growth.

Through improved biofilm control, Towerclean NT® enhances heat transfer efficiency, supports stable cooling water treatment performance, and helps reduce maintenance requirements. The technology contributes to improved operational reliability, lower energy consumption, and more sustainable cooling water system management, making it an effective solution for industries seeking to optimize cooling system performance and asset protection.

Surface Sterilization vs Deep Biofilm Control

Conventional Oxidizers
Kills microorganisms on the surface.

Towerclean NT®
Penetrates deep into biofilm and deactivates microbial activity throughout the deposit.

Technology Benefits

Advanced biofilm control for cooling water systems

Deep-penetrating biodispersant technology

Continuous protection against biofouling

Towerclean NT® has high performance as biodispersant and slime control agent in cooling water system due to:

✅ High effectiveness against sessile bacteria within biofilm
✅ Deep biofilm penetration
✅ Deactivates microbial activity throughout the biofilm layer
✅ Continuous biofilm dispersion and control
✅ Improved cooling water system cleanliness and heat transfer performance

Towerclean NT® Key Advantages

1. Enhanced Biofouling Control

Provides effective control of biofilm and microbiological growth in cooling water systems.

2. Effective Against Hidden Microbial Growth

Unlike traditional oxidizing biocides that mainly kill planktonic organisms, Towerclean NT can penetrate biofilms and act against microorganisms living inside deposits.

3. Supports Heat Transfer Efficiency

Reducing biofilm accumulation helps maintain cleaner heat exchanger surfaces, which supports efficient heat transfer and stable cooling system operation. This aligns with the stated objectives of cooling water treatment in the presentation.

4. Improves Reliability of Cooling Water Systems

By minimizing biofouling, Towerclean NT supports more stable operation and reduces common cooling water problems caused by microbial growth.

Towerclean NT® Key Features

1. Deep Biofilm Penetration
Towerclean NT penetrates deep inside biofilm deposits and deactivates microbial activities, rather than only attacking microorganisms on the surface.

2. Controls Sessile Bacteria
The technology is designed to act against sessile bacteria living inside biofilms, which are generally difficult to control using conventional biocides.

3. Continuous Slime Control
Towerclean NT is categorized as a Slime Control Agent within Kurita’s Cooling Water System chemical lineup.

4. Biodispersant Action
The technology helps remove and disperse biofilm deposits, supporting cleaner heat transfer surfaces and better cooling water system performance.

5. Compatible with Advanced Kurita Programs
Towerclean NT forms part of:
• LEGI END Technology (Towerclean NT + Kurita LE) for enhanced microbiological control.
• Regenerated-NT Concept (Towerclean NT + Polycrin A series) where the activator in NT can be regenerated to enhance performance.
