S.sensing® IK
Dosing Optimizer for Large-Scale RO Plants
Optimize Dosing. Reduce Biofouling. Extend RO Membrane Life.
S.sensing® IK is Kurita’s dosing optimization technology for large-scale reverse osmosis plants. It is designed to support stable product water supply and reduce treatment costs by optimizing chemical dosing for dechlorination and biofouling control.
In large-scale RO operations, fixed chemical dosing can create two major risks: chlorine leakage that may damage RO membranes, and excessive reducing agent dosage that may reduce Kuriverter® IK performance and contribute to membrane clogging.
Product Overview
Large-scale RO plants require consistent chemical control to maintain stable water production and minimize treatment costs. The source file identifies large-scale RO plants as the target potential customer group, with key customer concerns including stable product water supply and reduction of treatment cost.
S.sensing® IK is introduced as a dosing optimizer that combines two control functions: dechlorination control and biofouling control.
What are the key features that S.sensing® IK offers?
Reduced Risk of Membrane Damage
Applying S.sensing® IK reduced the risk of membrane damage in SBS control
Lower CIP Frequency
CIP frequency can be improved from 1 time per 2 months to 1 time per 4 months
Longer RO Membrane Lifespan
Improvement of RO membrane lifespan compared to conventional treatment
Operating Cost Reduction
Cost reduction can be expected from the optimization of chlorine scaveger and slime control agent
How it works?
| Function | What It Does | Customer Value |
|---|---|---|
| Dechlorination Control | Controls SBS dosage by monitoring chlorine concentration. | Helps reduce membrane damage risk. |
| Biofouling Control | Controls Kuriverter IK dosage by monitoring the slope of differential pressure change. | Helps automatically adjust IK dosage to the optimum level. |
1. Dechlorination Control
S.sensing IK performs proportional control of SBS by monitoring chlorine concentration. This helps reduce the risk of membrane damage caused by chlorine leakage.
2. Biofouling Control
S.sensing IK performs step control of IK-110 by monitoring the slope of differential pressure change. The source file states that IK dosage is automatically adjusted to the optimum level by monitoring differential pressure behavior
